What happens next?

Let’s Talk … It all starts with an initial consultation to chat about the brief and discuss ideas and expectations. What is the purpose of the shoot? Where will the photos be used? What story do you want to tell? What image do you want to portray? And just as importantly, is there anything you want to avoid?

Let’s meet … Depending on the type of shoot and the brief, it can be a good idea to meet, either via video link or in person. David will run through your ideas and requirements with you, drilling down the details if there’s a specific look and feel you’re after. He’ll also cover off things such as presentation, including grooming and clothing, and check out the location, access and lighting.

Show and tell … Inspiration comes in many different formats, so feel free to show David images that help convey what you have in mind. You’ll find plenty of inspiration in our photo galleries.

Ask away … Questions are always welcome! From image quality and formats, to timing and pricing, David’s got the answers at his fingertips. And do let him know if you have a budget; he won’t be offended.

Confirmation … Once the details are locked in, David will confirm everything in writing, including the who, what, why, where and when, plus any other details needing to be finalised so everyone’s on the same page.

Preparation and planning … Depending on the shoot, David will often drop by the location beforehand to get an understanding of the space and any potential obstacles or challenges. He’ll start thinking about those great shots he can get.

On the day … David will arrive in good time with all the gear – and maybe a dad joke or two – ready to set up for your shoot. He’s used to challenges such as shooting in small spaces and photographing moving targets, so you can expect him to remain calm under pressure, no matter what you throw at him (as long it’s not moths. Did we mention he hates moths?)

Say cheese … It’s no secret David is skilled at making people feel comfortable in front of the camera. His photos speak for themselves. And remember, if it’s a tethered shoot, you can discuss the images immediately to make sure everything’s just as you want it.

Gallery showing … Your edited images are presented in a private online gallery, usually within 7 days of the shoot. Your personal gallery is private and password protected and includes both low-res and high-res images.
